Several employees were recognized for their length of service with the company, but the night belonged to Jim Buderer. Jim is a 1958 Sandusky High School graduate. He then graduated from The Ohio State University College of Pharmacy in 1963. The pharmacy known as Fisher Drug began in the current location at the corner of Monroe and Hancock Streets in 1939 and Jim purchased a partnership in 1973 where he still works every day. “Jim is the heart and soul of the company and helped create the family-like atmosphere we all enjoy,” explained Lisa Pawliski, Manager at the Perrysburg Pharmacy. Jim was also recognized by receiving the Lisa Childers Quality and Progress Award, which is given annually to an employee who demonstrates a commitment to providing quality service to patients and doctors. Employees also celebrated Jim’s landmark service with t-shirts “It’s been a Jim-boree since 1963,” with face sticks as well as bowling and laser tag.
Founders Awards were given to Lisa Pawliski for 20 years of service, Andrea German who has been a Laboratory Technician for 15 years, Paula Coffield and Andrea Dietrick for their 5 years of service, all of whom work at the Perrysburg pharmacy.
In addition to the Sandusky and Perrysburg pharmacies, a third location serves the Cleveland area with an Avon pharmacy. Buderer Drug Company is the proud Compounding Pharmacy to the Cleveland Guardians and several other major league and college teams. The company is also engaged in clinical trials at Johns Hopkins, Cleveland Clinic and MD Anderson. This includes 4 ongoing Phase 2 trials and another drug development project.
